`Nichi' means `day'. `Mai' means `every'. If we put them together we get
`mai-nichi' which means `everyday'. `Mai-shu' is `every week'.
`Mai-asa' is `every morning'.
`Mai-nen' is `every year'.
What is `rai-nen'? NEXT YEAR, ofcourse! How about `kon-getsu'? THIS MONTH
SUSHI
In Japan sushi is widely available and very reasonably priced. Sushi is a
type of food that is comprised of a bed of rice topped with an egg or a
piece of fish (usually raw but not always!). `Ebi' means shrimp and
ebi sushi are usually cooked. `Tomago' means egg.
Raw tuna is a delicacy in Japan and is often served in sushi. `Maguro' and
`toro' are both types of tuna. `Ika' is squid or cuttlefish. `Tako' is
octopus. All restaurants in Japan have plastic models in the window and
it is not uncommon to bring your waitress outside to the window
to point out the meal that you want.
